If I calculated the sales and profit percentage right, we will have 23 book/map winners. We will also be donating about $80 worth of books to Harbor House or the YWCA Women's Crisis Center.
After I get the final charges and bonus information from Scholastic I will send emails and make phone calls.
Thank you to everyone who came and made the first HANCK Scholastic Book Fair a success!
I plan to hold another one, and I am open to suggestions on ways to make it better.
So if you came, please leave a comment letting me know what you liked the best and something to make it better. If you didn't come, please leave a comment telling me what change would entice you to come see it next time. Also, would next spring be good, or too soon?

What I liked is that Scholastic books are pretty affordable, so I was able to give Zephyr a budget and he could get quite a few things for the money he had. Plus, he liked paying by himself.
thanks
Bianca
I thought the fair was fantastic, the books were great and affordable with a wide variety. I really loved the discount books, one of which has become Nikki's favorite.
Next time I would like to see more books, especially historical books. I think I mentioned wanting a life and time of Martin Luther King book. But that's it! The space was perfect, the books were good. The price was right. I do so love a scholastic book fair!
A wider variety of books would be nice. Of course, that would mean it would take me EVEN LONGER to make my choices! Basically, though, I thought it was great.
It also might be fun to do some of the book fair activity type things that schools do. Not sure how to pull that off, though.
I would have come if the fair had not fallen on Yom Kippur.
I think spring would be a great time to have another one as long as it does not fall on the Passover or the last day of Feast of Unleavened Bread.
Thank you Shoshanna. I will be more aware of potential religious conflicts in the future. Next fall's fair is tentatively scheduled for the second week of October, so we will miss Yom Kippur. I currently do not have a spring fair reserved, but if do, I am now aware that Passover is April 8-16, 2009. :-)
